Richard deSaulles was born and raised in suburban Long Island, New York. Richard earned a B.A. in Political Science (with honors) from the University of California, Berkeley. While at Berkeley, Richard spent a semester in China, and authored an Honors Thesis entitled: "Megan's Law: Circumventing the Constitution to Protect Our Children." After Berkeley, Richard earned his J.D. from the Gould School of Law at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. While at USC, Richard crafted a dissertation on Gender Issues with Fox News Commentator and Professor, Susan Estrich.
During and after law school, Richard worked in law firms focused on catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, products liability, and public entity defense. Richard and his family finally settled in beautiful Monterey County, where he worked as a manager in the Monterey County Office of the County Counsel. Richard founded the Law Offices of Richard deSaulles in 2008, a firm dedicated to helping Californian citizens in need of legal assistance.
Known for his professional and pleasant demeanor, Richard’s tenacious advocacy has quickly set him apart as one of California’s rising legal stars. Clients of the Law Offices of Richard deSaulles are quick to refer friends and families to the firm. Mr. deSaulles has been regarded as one of the leaders of California’s “next generation” of Plaintiffs’ attorneys.
When not in the courtroom or working with clients, Richard might be found at the Monterey College of Law, where he is a Professor of Legal Remedies and Legal Writing. Richard truly enjoys working with the men and women who are California’s lawyers of the future.
In addition, Richard has committed personal time to sit on public committees and to coach his children's sports teams. Richard, his wife, Maureen, and their two kids also enjoy traveling throughout the world and the beautiful State of California whenever possible.
